Born: Farmersville, Indiana.

Died: DuBois, Illinois.

Occupation: Amateur Conchologist. Lived in DuBois, Illinois 1881-1920. Collected extensively in the southeastern, U.S.; Mexico, 1906-1909; Guatemala, 1912-1917; Texas, 1919. At least 15 species named in his honor. Purchased Chas. S. Hodgson collection in 1919 which was bequethed to the University of Illinois Museum of Natural History in 1921 and transferred to the Illinois Natural History Survey in 1998.

Research Interests: Freshwater and land Mollusca.
